Furniture Staining & Painting
Furniture staining and painting, done properly
Good furniture is worth keeping. A solid wood dresser, a dining table that has had every holiday on it, or built-in bookcases that just need a colour change can be refinished for far less than replacing them, and the result is better made than most of what is in the shops.
How we do it
Furniture Staining & Painting across Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties
For a painted finish we clean, sand, fill and prime, then spray a furniture enamel in thin coats for a hard, even surface with no brush marks. For stained work we strip the old finish, sand to clean wood, stain to the colour you want and seal it with a durable topcoat. Hardware comes off and goes back on; new hardware can be fitted at the same time.
We refinish pieces at our workshop or on site for built-ins and large items. Typical turnaround is one to two weeks depending on the finish and the drying time between coats.
Tell us what the piece is, send a photo if you can, and we will give you a price and an honest opinion on whether it is worth refinishing.
Often booked with it: cabinet refinishing and interior painting.

Good to know
Furniture Staining & Painting: the questions we get asked
What furniture is worth refinishing?
Solid wood and good plywood pieces, almost always. Particleboard with a paper or plastic skin usually is not; we will say so when we see it.
Can you paint over a stained or lacquered piece?
Yes. A thorough scuff-sand and a bonding primer are what make the new finish stick. Skipping that step is why DIY painted furniture chips.
How long does a piece take?
Usually one to two weeks. Paint and stain need proper drying time between coats, and rushing it is how finishes stay soft.
Do you refinish kitchen cabinets too?
Yes, that is its own service: see Cabinet Refinishing. The process is the same spray finish, done in your kitchen.
